So with the season fully under way and after the 3-0 defeat to Wooton last week, Favell really needed a good performence and some points on the board.
Matt had more players available to him this week as a recent paintballing excursion had meant that 4 players were off getting pelted in the meat and two veg area….so with a bit more depth to the squad Matt was formulating a cunning plan to get some points.
All past fixtures against Collingtree have ended with all the points always going to them, the first ever fixture between the two clubs witnessed Collingtrree as a very strong and disciplined club and WFFC were simplyh beaten by a superior team, the second fixture WFFC had a severley weakended team and did as much as we could to limit the damage.
The most recent fixture saw the Favell go in at half-time with an impressive 3-0 lead, the second half however saw Matt and Gary off injured and the dynamics of the team changed and Collingtree managed to get back 5 goals to yet again take the 3 points. This fixture however was differnt as WFFC for a vast majority of the 90 minutes were very good, the effort and determination put in by everyone saw the club take away all 3 points with the final scoreline 3-2.
The first half was very good for WFFC, unusually straight in from the word go, both Crouchie and Kassmoddy had chances in the first few minutes but missed narrowly, some brilliant closing down by the midfield and general team-work across the field saw WFFC dominate msot of the possesion. Crouchie opened the scoring from a lovely precission ball through from Kassmoddy to see the ball loop over the keeper, a lucky free-kick for Collingtree saw an unusual free-kick go in with the aid of the wind (poor Chris Norman).
Kassmoddy got a goal from a poor goal kick from the Collingtree goalkeeper who had a shocking game but Collingtree got an equaliser from about 4 yards out after a corner came in and wasnt cleared properly.
The second half saw both teams attack and defend with WFFC having proabbly the beeter chances, with about 5 minutes to go a long Chris Norman kick put Chrouchie through on goal, a well placed shot saw all 3 points earned!
Man of the Match was Ashley Mellett who did very well in midfield, winning the ball and playing it through, a debut appearance for Kirk Jones nearly got him a Van Persie esq goal but was somehow denied by the dwarf keeper. Chris Norman was a very good stand-in goalkeeper for his brother Dave and Abass did very well coming on as a substitute to shore up the midfield. All unused subs will be given a chance in the next fixture – Matt is aware , speak to him about your chance to play…..Coye seemed very happy that the lads had secured 3 points without the assistance of his big brother Anthony who was sunning himself on holiday in Spain.

The root of your writing while sounding reasonable initially, did not really settle properly with me personally after some time. Someplace throughout the paragraphs you actually managed to make me a believer but only for a while. I nevertheless have got a problem with your jumps in logic and one might do well to fill in all those breaks. When you actually can accomplish that, I could definitely end up being amazed.
Really enjoy the fresh appear. I was pleased with the content. Appreciation for a great entry.
